The weather continues to play trick on us, raining on and off on Friday morning, and then the weekend presented us with a great day on Saturday and a little wind on Sunday.

Forecast for this week looks very promising! The forecasters are telling us that we will finish the month of February with sunny days, all in the mid seventies. My suggestion is to jump on the phone or the web and get your tee time set for the weekend. The times are filling up fast.

We have a few activities this week at Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta and Azul Restaurant that you are not going to want to miss. Thursday will be the Buckaroo Bash BBQ at the Azul Restaurant (get your cowboy on!). We encourage you to dress the part. Chef Roy will be putting on a feast even the biggest of cowboys would approve. The menu includes Tri Tip Carving Stations, Spare Ribs, Whole Chicken, Peach Cobbler and Strawberry Shortcake, to highlight a few things. We will have a country western DJ and Line Dancing to keep the night going. Seating is limited, sign up now before we sellout!

March Madness and Demo Day is slated for Saturday March 1st. Manufacturer Reps from Taylor Made, Titleist, Mizuno and Adams will be here to show you their 2008 product line and answer any questions you might have. We will also have sales on men’s and ladies' clothing and outerwear. We will start at 9:00 am and go until 2:00 pm. Leah will be offering drink specials at our outdoor bar, and Chef Roy will have BBQ station which will include Chicken, Hot Dogs and Hamburgers. Prices are so low that we can not advertise!

Hopefully some of you have noticed the fantastic aerial photos of the golf course displayed in the golf shop and the Solaz Café. We are giving the homeowners a special $50.00 discount on these pictures. We have pictures of all 18 holes. Currently we have about 8 different holes framed. We can special order a hole if you don’t see the one you live on.

Currently, we have a video tour of the facility Produced by Ron Hyde Productions

Click here to view it and email it to your friends who are thinking of coming to the desert. Ron did a great job getting the flavor of our facility. To see more of Ron’s Work you can go to www.ronhyde.net.

On the Anthony Kim watch, Anthony just missed playing in the World Match Play because Ernie Els decided to play, only to lose his first match 6 and 5. That was a long plane flight for just one round of golf. Had Anthony made it into the Match Play, he would have drawn Tiger Woods, a task that Anthony was relishing. He will have to wait for another day to match his game with Tiger's. Anthony is off to play at Doral this week with a different caddy on his bag. Paull Veroulis, a longtime friend of Anthony’s, will be on the bag this week and in Korea where Anthony will be playing in a corporate event. If you haven’t figured it out, Paull is my 24 year old son, who is finishing his degree at the University of Oklahoma.

Check out our upcoming specials for March. Lots of great golf, golf balls and lunches! Don’t miss out.

Until next week, keep rolling the rock!

The desert was treated with almost Montana spring-like weather last week, with temperatures in the mid 80’s first part of the week, then on Thursday the temps dropped into the 40’s. We even had snow at the 1,000 foot level!

The weekend warmed up again with temperatures back in the 80’s, which created a very busy golf course. We had 182 rounds on Friday, 215 players on Saturday and 220 golfers on Sunday.

The season has finally hit. It is my suggestion to make sure you take full advantage of our advance tee time policy. Trying to get a tee time 2 to 3 days out is getting more difficult.

This will be very busy this week, with various events. Men’s Club is having a qualifier for the SCGA Team Qualifier event, plus the continuation of the president’s cup event.

The 9 Hole Ladies Club will be hosting their Ladies Invitational with Heritage Palms. They have 60 ladies participating.

The United States Senior Golf Association will be playing here on Wednesday. They will have 32 players in their event.

60 Players for Manitoba Canada will be arriving at our facility on Thursday for their annual Steinbach Open.

Rainscape will be hosting their annual golf event on Friday here at Trilogy in the afternoon. They will have over 60 players.

On March 1st, 2008 we will have our March Madness Demo Day and Tent Sale. Manufacturer reps from Taylor Made, Titleist, Mizuno, and Adams will be participating with their newest products on the market. We also will have great deals on clothing and golf balls. The Azul Restaurant will be offering lunch and drink specials.

Azul Restaurant is taking reservations for the Buckaroo Bash on February 28th. Go to azulattrilogy.com to check the menu. The price will be $24.95 per person.

Check out our weekly web specials for golf next week, and also be on the look out for our email specials.

On the Anthony Kim Watch, it was a tough week. First he was told that he would be in the World Match Play event, only to be told that Ernie Els was going to play, which would drop Anthony out of the event. Rounds of 73 and 77 resulted in Anthony missing his first cut of the year.

The new artwork is in! We have some great shots of the golf course available for sale. These framed photos will be a great addition to your home, and a great conversation piece.

Until next week, keep rolling that rock!

Last week, I lamented on the big rain storm that hit us... now this past Sunday, the winds were so high that we lost power in the whole Trilogy La Quinta Community! Power went out just before halftime of the Super Bowl, and didn’t come back one until about 9 pm Sunday night. Very disheartening for all of those watching what may be remembered as one of the greatest upsets in Super Bowl history!

Last week, Azul Restaurant put on two outstanding events that were received with rave reviews. Our first of many Pasta Nights was a hit! People took great pleasure in the Evaro Brothers and their live music and the live pasta station. Pasta to order, almost any way you wanted!

Thursday night, Shea Homes hosted a "Share the Dream Dinner," which was a huge success. Over 60 Trilogy members and their guests were treated to what has become known as the “Best Prime Rib in the Desert. " Chef Roy Luna and his staff put on a feast for king. Pastry Chef Stefanie put out a dessert display, and her interaction with the members and their guests was incredible, answering a variety of questions about her “to die for" desserts.

Stefanie will soon be rolling out a variety of birthday cakes and special event pies that you will be able to view right on the Azulattrilogy.com website. I will keep you posted when those pictures go live.

Just in today are our aerial photos of the golf course. We currently have photos of #2, #6, #8,#9,#13,#14,#16. These framed and matted photos will retail for $295.00. This is a perfect piece of artwork for any Trilogy home. As a Trilogy member you will get a special price of just $250.00 per photo, or $475.00 if you purchase two.

Coming soon will be a full tour of the golf course on our website at Trilogygolfclub.com/laquinta.

On the Anthony Kim watch, Anthony fought the Birdie/Bogey syndrome at the FBR in Phoenix. Rounds of 69-70-69-70 put him in a tie for 30th. Anthony will take the week off and not participate in the AT&T at Pebble Beach. He will return to the tour the following week to participate in the Northern Trust Open at Riviera. Anthony had the low round of the final day to vault him into 9th place last year.

What a finish to the Super Bowl. Like I said in last week’s Blog, that is why they play the game.
The Giants, 14-point underdogs, put up a fight that the Patriots had not seen all year. Wow, Eli Manning and Peyton Manning - Back to Back Super Bowl MVP’s. It's safe to say that the Patriots must dread seeing the Manning name.

Look for an email blast about your Time Warner Card. We are offering a special on our green fee rate for anyone using the Time Warner Card.

Until next week, keep rolling the rock!
