Wow, what a closing weekend! We had 164, 187, and 167 players respectively on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. That is an all-time record for our closing weekend before overseeding!

Last Friday was the first-ever Hit and Giggle event here at Trilogy La Quinta. We had over 40 participants play in this modified scramble. Golf Professional Nick Mitchell hit drives on the 3rd hole for people to use. General Manager Brandon O’Neill was the designated putter on the fourth hole. We had drink stations on holes three, five, and nine. Mark Harbedian, Tyler Garrigus, and Rick Alexander were instrumental in getting the event going. Leah Stewart, Roy Luna, and Della Lemons did a great job having their staff involved in this great event and providing the food and drinks for the event. Fun was had by all, which included me videotaping the event. I was fortunate to see Mrs. Kassen hole out an 88 yard shot for an eagle on the third hole. From our vantage point it looked like it was going to be close, but the flag stick was on the lower back shelf so you couldn’t see the ball. Once we got to the green we saw Mr. Gagnon’s 15 feet short of the hole and another ball 20 fee long of the hole. Mr. Kassen looked at it and said that it was his ball. Everyone was wondering what happened to Mrs. Kassen’s ball. I suggested looking in the hole. To Mr. Gagnon’s delight he found Mrs. Kassen’s ball at the bottom of the cup.

Starting September 29th thru October 10th, the Golf Shop will be open 7am to 2pm. Azul Restaurant will continue to be open for lunch 11am to 2pm each day. Sunday Night and Monday Night Football continue to gain in popularity each week. Great Fun, Great food, and Great Football without the noise of a busy sports bar.

All information on the Hybrid Pass is on the web! You can find anything you need to answer your questions concerning the 2008 Hybrid Pass and Coupon Program. It provides the homeowners with great access to the golf course, with one of the most competitive rates in the Coachella Valley. There are very few golf courses that offer a better conditioned golf course or more professional team members.

We look forward for you to review the program in more detail.

Lots of happy campers here at Trilogy with our football teams having some success. Grizzlies and Ducks continue to dominate, although Brandon was downing a lot of Pepto Bismal until the third quarter, as the Stanford Cardinals gave his Ducks a Scare. Nick’s Raiders finally broke their losing streak thanks to a blocked field goal at the end. I myself was on the phone gloating to my friends who are diehard Bears fans - the same fans who put a "44-0" Sports Illustrated Cover from the 1986 season in my work space. It looks like it will be a fun year being a Cowboys fan. Being a fan since 1971 (yes, I know I am dating myself), I have seen the lows of missed Super Bowl opportunities and highs of 5 Super Bowl wins.

Two more Blogs until we reopen, and I will be chaulk full of information over the next couple of weeks.

Until next week keep rolling that rock!

Starting to feel like a bit like Scotland! Cool morning temps are making the rest of the day very enjoyable. Rumor has it temperatures will stay below 100 all week. Now the Scotland part - we are continuing to dry out the fairways and roughs, and lowering the heights of both. The golf course is playing hard and fast, a chance for you to shoot some of your lowest scores. I played over the weekend, and being a golf professional for over 25 years I can honestly say the golf course, even in its drying out condition, is in great shape. The tees and greens are still in great shape, hence my statement that it looks like Scotland in summer.

For the weekend we are offering golf between 7:00am and 9:00am for $49.00, including green fees, “At the turn Lunch”, 2 Sleeves of Precept Laddie Extreme Golf Balls, and a bounce back card to use when we reopen in October. All tee times after 9:00am will be priced at $32.00, and after 12pm noon for just $22.00.

The Azul restaurant continues its Football, Food, and Fun nights. Sunday night football at Azul includes a $5.00 Barbeque, and Monday Night is the $4.00 special on all bar menu items! Great games, great food, and great fun. We will have a few special guests over the season, so don’t miss out!

Grizzlies were off this weekend, but the Ducks showed that they're for real! They were so good, Brandon didn’t even make a big deal about the win. They have gone from nowhere to #13 in the nation. Grizzlies continue to be ranked #2 in the Division One Championship Series.

We rolled out the Hybrid Pass and Coupon Program on Friday. Very few questions during the presentation gave me the indication that the program is easy to understand. It provides the homeowners with great access to the golf course with one of the most competitive rates in the Coachella Valley.

Until next week keep rolling that rock!

Welcome Back, NFL! In the immortal words of Jimmy Johnson, “how bout them Cowboys!” My apologies for the gratuitous plug for my “boys.”

Entering the second week of September, the golf course continues to be in great condition. I have been around the desert playing some of the finest facilities the Coachella Valley has to offer; there isn’t a single golf course with better conditions than we have to offer. What a great time to play a great conditioned golf course for a quarter of the peak season price.

The popularity of two different specials has allowed us to continue them the remainder of the month. To make your golfing dollar go farther this month, we are offering our Golf September special. Pay $99.00 and play through September 20th for free. Jump on the chance to play Trilogy for less than a Benjamin!

We are also offering a great special for 4-somes! Play for just $99 for your foursome this weekend - the best deal in the desert. You must play after 9:00am. Call now and book your times, as the weekend is filling fast.

Want to hit the ball farther? Come out and bring your game to Trilogy! We are starting to slowly reduce the water on the golf course in preparation for the upcoming overseeding season. Roughs are shorter, and the fairways are firm and fast. Time to go low!

On the Anthony Kim watch, Anthony struggled on the greens at the BMW. Even par after 4 rounds left Anthony in 53rd place. Unfortunately he needed to finish in the Top 10 to make the Tour Championship. Anthony’s season isn’t over yet. Anthony is planning on being involved in the Fall Finish, especially the Texas Open where last year playing in his first tour event ever, he placed second. I told you last week that my son Paull caddied for Anthony at the BMW. Paull made the comment each day that Anthony was hitting the ball very well just was struggling on the greens.

Upcoming in the Azul Restaurant this weekend, Friday Night is Prime Rib Night - $21.95 for a 4 course meal, with the main course being Prime Rib. Call to make your reservations now, seating is limited.

Football, Football, Football!
Sunday night football at Azul includes a $5.00 Barbecue, and Monday Night is the $4.00 special on all bar menu items! Great games, great food, and great fun. We will have a few special guests over the season, so don’t miss out!

Grizzlies and Ducks in blowouts over the weekend! Both are going to have to get a tougher schedule, that way the starters can actually play more than half a game of football.

Happy Labor Day!

While much of the country was getting their fill of college football, we were busy helping raise funds for the Wounded Warriors Foundation. With a simple $1.00 donation from each golfer, we raised over $100 for this worthy foundation. This national day of support was started through a PGA Golf Professional who saw action in Iraq. For more information on how much money was raised on Saturday nation-wide, click here.

Despite the hot and humid temperatures, we started the month of September with a higher-than-budgeted number of green fee rounds, and so we thank those who supported us over the weekend!

To make your golfing dollar go further this month, we are offering our Golf September special. Pay $99 and play unlimited golf through September the 20th! Jump on the chance to play Trilogy for less than a Benjamin!

There has been a change to our Maintenance Schedule for the upcoming fall season. At the time of this Blog, the proposed schedule shows us shutting down September 21st and reopening somewhere between October 12th and October 18th. We will keep you posted weekly of the progress of the overseed process. Look to the website for weekly updates on the process.

On the Anthony Kim watch, Anthony missed the cut at the Deutsche Bank Championship, the second leg of the PGA Playoff Format. That left Anthony in 39th on the FedEx Cup Standings. He will advance to the BMW Championship at Cog Hill on Thursday. Cog Hill, former site of the Western Open, is just outside of Chicago. Personal note here, my son Paull will be caddying for Anthony this week. We will have our eyes glued to the television and on the internet. Anthony will need a good week to move into the Top 30 and be able to play in the final event, the Tour Championship at Eastlake Country Club in Atlanta.

This week, our Spotlight Special is our $39.00 SunDog Sunglass special and Lunch Special. Tee times must be after 9:00 to get this special.

Ole’! We had a great Friday night dinner at Azul over the weekend. Chef Roy and his staff played to a full hour, and the authentic 4-course meal was met with rave reviews!! It was an all-hands-on-deck night. Way to go, team!! Special guest of the evening was newly hired Food and Beverage Manager Della Lemon. The staff showed her their true potential on Friday night. We are excited to have her on board to provide the patrons of Azul nights like Friday every time!

Reserve your table now for our upcoming Prime Rib Dinner on September 14th, 2007.
Special Note: Grizzlies and Ducks both win. Rumor has it Michigan is refusing to book Montana for a home game after what happened over the weekend; they can’t get out of their game with the Ducks next week!

Until next week keep rolling that rock!
