We had an interesting week of weather. Extremely high temperatures started the week, while overcast skies, high humidity, and low temperatures finished the week.

Golf Course Superintendent Scott Werline and his staff continue to do a great job in maintaining the condition of the golf course. On Friday we verticut the greens and put a light top dressing to help smooth out the roll on some of the greens.

There have been some issues with various plants dying for lack of water. Most of these areas are where Shea Homes is working on the dry well system on the golf course. Some of these areas had water shut off until the project is done. Once the project is finished we will be able replace the drip irrigation and get the water back on.

We have moved up the double tee times from 6:30am to 8:30 am to help get people in before the high temperatures and humidity of mid day.

Sunday we hosted the Golf Channel Amateur Tour. This 40 player event had a great time. The players were greeted with overcast skies and some cooler temperatures.

Congratulations to Sandy Kassen on her recent Hole in One. The Ladies of Trilogy have an unwritten rule of getting a diamond necklace to celebrate the hole in one. Dr. Marv, this is your first warning. Better start getting new clients to pay for that diamond necklace. You can thank Hilda Condra for this one! One again, way to go Sandy!

On the Anthony Kim watch, Anthony headed out to the British Open on Saturday. Although Anthony hasn’t played much links style golf, he has all the shots that should make him one of the new favorites. Many have now have dubbed Anthony the best player to not win a major. Maybe after this week he will be the best player on tour not named Tiger Woods. I am sure that Anthony was heating up the phone lines with Tiger getting some advice on how to play the links style course.

Until next week, keep rolling the rock!
