If this is your first time to the Trilogy Blog, welcome! If you are returning, welcome back!

Well the dog days of summer have finally hit that point where we're all finally tired of the heat. You know you are half way through it which in turn also means that you have another half to go. Many of our Trilogy Members are starting to take their summer vacations to cooler temperatures.

The golf course continues to be in great shape. Scott Werline and his staff have done a wonderful job of keeping up the quality standards of our golf course despite the heat.

The British Open was a contrast in weather to ours - stocking caps and gloves in July! Rooting for our local interest, Anthony Kim, continues to be an adventure and a pleasure all in one. Despite finishing last in the putting stats over the week, Anthony was in contention to win the British Open on the final nine holes! Unfazed by neither the weather, the golf course, nor his competition, Anthony continues to play at a level that warrants not only national attention but worldwide attention. In the end, Padraig Harrington was too strong for the field with a 4 under par final nine holes! No one lost the event, Padrig went out and won the tournament! His round of 69 in the final group was equivalent to a 63 or 64 on a calm day. No one was going to overcome that incredible back nine. There were many like Anthony, Ian Poulter and Henrick Stensen that gave it a gallant try, but in the end Paddy played 9 holes for the ages. To say nothing about what a great job Greg Norman did last week would be a crime. He was noble, stoic, and a competitor to the end. No one can fault his final round for the loss to Padrig. Norman didn’t lose the tournament, Padrig won it.

With the PGA coming up and the Ryder Cup to follow, I see Anthony being the straw that stirs the drink - the attitude the Americans need to defeat the Europeans once and for all at the Ryder Cup.

We have done an audit of our inventory, which is a great thing for you, the consumer. I wouldn’t wait - we are going to have weekly blowout specials on a variety of golf shop merchandise each week. I would suggest each week calling the golf shop or stopping by to see what inventory we are moving. Check out our email and web specials in the golf shop and get a jump on birthdays or special occasions.

With the double tee start system in place we have great tee times available every morning before the heat bakes the desert floor. Check out our upcoming specials for July, lots of great specials for golf, golf balls and lunches! Don’t miss out - www.Trilogygolfclub.com/laquinta

Until next week, keep rolling the rock!
